Do Logs Decay?

This may seem wierd, but i am living next to a hill and a tree i cut down landed its logs on top of said hill. i cannot grab/lift/cut them so they have been there for a few days. do logs from trees eventually decay? if not is there some way to do so?

No, they will be there until next world.
Be careful not to cut down trees that would fall onto a cliff if you value aesthetics.
