Hey guys,
I'm new to the game, and I notice as I explore that there are tons of old abandoned houses that are abandoned and empty (presumably someone built them, stopped playing, and was looted?). There are also tons of villages, and claims, that look like they're probably abandoned. I've been playing the game for maybe a week, and I've only bumped into 2 people, both passed on the river.
I can't help but think that most of these claims have been abandoned as well. Naturally, I'm tempted to build a ram, learn trespassing, and check them out. I'm not into griefing, but if the person is inactive, whats the harm? What is the general population's consensus on this kind of behavior? (Looting claims I *think are abandoned).
Also, I know there are rangers who can track and kill people who commit crimes. But if I loot the claim of an inactive player, can a ranger see that scent? Or only the scents of people who commit crimes on their claim? If I steal some wheat seeds from an abandoned farm am I gonna get murdered?
While I'm asking questions, there's an area near my hearth that spawns aurochs. But only sometimes. Is there a pattern to when I'll find them there? If I go and kill all of them, how long until there's a chance they'll be there again? If I go and they aren't there, how long until I should check again? What time of day do they spawn most?
