You can only dig up cave clay in shallow water in caves. If you don't have shallow water, then you can't dig up cave clay. Only Layer 1 has shallow water.

You are correct. Sorry, for some reason when I hear cave clay I just immediately think 'ball clay from cave shallows' because no one ever wants or uses cave clay. Bad connection to make and I apologize if this created any confusion.
