Yet another question

Well, there are two questions actually. Both have to do with mining.

1. I found an Iron Mine the other day and I was wondering how much strength I need to mine iron.

2. And we also found a cave, I hear you can start a mine in one of those too, but it requires a lot of strength.

I have 55 strength at the moment, is this enough for both? One? Neither? Please help.

the hardness of rock is random and has nothing to do with metal contained in it

Ah, I see. Is there a minimum strength needed or is it entirely random?

the quality of your digging implement matters too

the hardness is how much strength you need to mine, it seems to vary greatly

55 Strength should be more than enough to mine most places on the first mine layer (Making a mine hole on the surface or mining in a cave = 1st mine layer)

It varys alot, you could get unlucky (like me) and have 110 strength and a q30 mining pick and still not be able to mine most things in my cave =\. Or could be very lucky =p
