Locations??

I've explored about an hour's worth in three directions from my claim, and I'm starting to wonder as the immensity of the game catches up to me... Where am I in the scheme of things? How can I possibly figure out if I'm close to a recruiting village (I'd love to join, even if I'm new-ish)? I know I'm within twenty, thirty minutes of three or four large villages, and a dozen smaller ones, in addition to scores of single houses... But I'm clueless to who's where. Somebody help please??

As to joining a village it doesn't matter where you are as long as you can destroy your HF you'll be able to travel to it
