Battering Ram glue

Postby Imrannan » Sat Mar 12, 2011 9:08 pm

I messed up my palisade slightly and needed to built a battering ram to fix the problem. Online it says it takes 8 hours for the glue to dry and its been about 28 hours now. Still keeps telling me it is not dry. Am I missing something here? I thought maybe it would be like the tanning tubs and that people needed to be around, but it's outside so it seems like it would dry as long as someone was online.

It actually takes 24 RL hours to dry. Hm, was the server down today?

Not that I know of. I'm sure it will be done today but what a bitch. I've been waiting to finish the damn palisade so I can unclaim the area and get my lp back :( oh well. Thank you for your help.

You don't want to declaim. Claim prevents decay, without it you'll waste a lot of lumber and time on maintenance of your palisade.

Damn. I was going to unclaim it so that animals would spawn inside the palisade, after it's all grasslands. Oh well. Fuck it. I'd rather walk to grasslands than waste my time repairing.

Village claim allows animals to spawn AND prevents decay, so you can switch to that later on.

But there's really little need for animal spawns once you have nice domesticated herds.

Yeah it's probably just best to domesticate them and leave it claimed. Too bad too :( 150k lp in that claim.

you really don't want to declaim, for many reasons - the main one being, if your land isn't claimed, someone else could come along and put up a claim over it.

you down with OPP?

also village claim alone isn't recommended unless you're actually a village. if you're playing alone, and you go on vacation, get sick, internet craps out on you, something like that, for a couple weeks, authority under 50k means there's no claim protection at all. generally villages with no auth are considered abandoned and fair game to scavengers.

also a 150k LP claim is (i think) significantly larger than a village claim, so your idol radius wouldn't cover your whole land

Yeah thinking back on it now it seems like a stupid idea to declaim it. I'll just walk to the forest and grasslands instead of being so fat and lazy.
