Every time you harvest or craft a new item you will be given 50LP. When you pick your first branch, for example, you get 50 lp. You get no LP for branches after the first. When starting a new character, most of your early LP will come from seeing lots of new items for the first time.
- Exceptions
Pottery gives NO LP (Crafting, Unfired, or Fired) (this exception does not include bricks)
Fishing gear
Dowsing Rod
Leeches
Silkmoths
jorb wrote:Whether or not you get LP depends on whether the thing you saw is part of a future craft or not. You get no LP for seeing things that cannot be further crafted from. Mostly thats kind of how it works.
CURIOSITIES
Curiosities can be acquired in many ways. Some curiosities are craftable, some are foregables, some are small animals and others yet will be randomly given out at various stages in other crafting, building and/or otherwise work related proletarian tasks.
Once successfully placed in the study inventory, studying of the curiosity will commence of itself. Once the piechart on the curiosity has come full circle the curiosity will be consumed and your character will be rewarded with learning points. Note: Study time passes on curiosities regardless of whether you character is logged in or not. You will, in other words, keep studying the items in your study inventory even when you are logged out. Consequently, some curiosities will need to be in your study inventory for quite some time before they are consumed. Only one of each type of curiosity can be studied at any given time.
Curiosities have three dimensions along which they vary.
LP: The amount of LP given upon having studied the item in question.
Mental Weight: The amount of attention required.
Time: The time it takes to study the item.

Norsu wrote:If you want to post the base LP, here's a formula to help, not sure if anyone already pointed it out:
TotalLP/(sqrt(QL/10)*(LA/100)) = BaseLP
Where LA is your total learning ability %, such as 360, QL is the QL of the item, and TotalLP is the amount you actually gained from it. Alternatively, if you don't want to bother using that, it helps to post the exact QL of the curiosity along with your learning ability, so someone else can do it.

Any curios not listed are probably commented due to not having the data for them; if you've got any info on any that are missing (or updates to any that are there, since they're bound to not all be 100% accurate at this point), feel free to tell me!
