Fewer Rivers?

I've walked in each direction from where we have decided to settle for about 10 minutes and haven't found a river yet. I would like to think that this world would have fewer rivers, because it easily and unjustly dominated travel in W4, but I may be wrong. Anyone else had similar experiences?

I walked for 20 minutes to find a river. I love em. Walked ten more to find a lake.

I've had no trouble finding rivers.

The small as fuck screen from the regular client probably makes it feel like you're just walking further.
