The only thing I can suggest is dropping and picking back up your stuff, but... I doubt that'll do anything.

After you got Metal Working if you still dont see it, drop the stuff and repick and pass it to a crate and repick it. Or get a new bar of metal.

I couldnt make the Barkboat, then removed a stump and got the option, even tho I got LP from blocks twice.

As for the "So fast?" question, yes, it's being lucky on the hardness of the wall off your nearest cave. I still havent tested the nearest cave ( have 2 near )
