All you have to do is double click run.command.

Run software update & get the latest version of java, or you'll get an error.

Share and Enjoy.

See the C&I post for an example of what the 'small white screen' may contain.

ETA - to lilrfozzy - it should Just Work. It is currently Just Not Working. Does your small white screen say the same stuff as mine? (in the other thread?) If not, can you copy & paste it?

Yeah that's probably because you don't have java 1.6.
java.lang.String.isEmpty() was added in Java 1.6.

What java version do you have?
To check java version, open Terminal and type: "java -version"

For reference, I'm currently running java 1.6.0_24 .

If you don't have at least java 1.6, run software update and get it.

I am running OS X.4.11. Software update is not giving me the option to upgrade my Java, and I've apparently got version 1.5.0_19. Is this only going to run on OS X.5 upwards?

Running Perfectly. <3
W5: Sevenson
W4: Kail the Chieftain of Providence
W3: Crofton the Hermit

There was once a bear with crimson hair
He moved faster than Kail could see:
And took his fingers three.

Yes.
Any client that uses 1.6-only features will not run on pre 1.6 java.
If you can run 10.5+, you probably should, because there are major security fixes in the recent versions of java.

If you can't, then I suggest grabbing the source code & swapping out isEmpty() & any other unsupported methods, for an alternative.

You know, you are doing things the hard way. Just upgrade to JavaSE 1.6 or newer.

Not a mac guru (hell, can't even call myself a Win guru anymore :/), but the Java installer works pretty much the same on all OSes if I recall right. You have to go install Java SE 1.6 or 1.7 to upgrade. The updating tool will only check for updates to the current installed version(s) if I recall right. If you need to keep v1.5, you should be able to run multiple versions of the JRE.
