How much worse is palisade decay on a mudflat?

..than on paved ground.

I want to start a nice big one but I don't have the LP for a claim that big yet. I don't want it all to be decaying all over and be a hassle.

4x faster than on paved.

Claims don't prevent decay, just slow it.

Really? This has not been the case in many of my experiences. It merely seems like it extremely slows the decay, similar to how pavement causes things to decay 4x less.

Or do only personal claims prevent decay?

I've had a drying frame decay on claimed land before (On grass, the paved one didn't [right next to each other])

I've seen the same thing, but have yet to see decay on anything else in a claim.

I've had looms decay on paved grounds on a claim before. Very rapidly even. Multiple looms needed to be repaired pretty much daily.

Looms are considered an inside item like Cupboards, so they'll decay outside even on a claim

Idk, I had a huge farm estate in W4, entirely claimed even to a point that a little outside the perimeter was claimed, wall was palisade on pavement, and after not logging in for a week 30% of my wall was missing and another 20% was heavily decayed. No battering rams or players nearby either.
