Solo Land Owning

So if I want to build a gate for myself, all by my lonesome, do you guys think it would be more cost effective to build another corner post or just do the battering ram thing> (two corner posts connected by wall, destroy inbetween wall, build gate)

If you want to build only one gate and if you surround your entire area with a palisade, you just need one initial cornerpost anyway.

True, although I was planning on using a ridge as my third wall. Guess I should just count up whether its cheaper to build a full enclosure or a three-wall one-ridge enclosure *minimum 2 cornerposts*.

Two cornerposts are cost and time efficient. Don't use the ram trick, it's silly.

Yeah, come to think of it, I forgot the strength requirements involved. Now the only question is whether to not to get Wheelmaking for quick wall building through cart transport, or put those points in claiming land *neighbors are getting antsy...*

In my opinion, claiming the land is safer and a better use of time. It may mean transporting logs and blocks takes longer but in the end it'll prevent anyone from boxing you in or taking the land you want.

in world 4 i played like an alone farmer with no metal, so i claim land and then build 2 initial cornerposts, each near its gate and always take with me only one key, so if i would die i could take another key without being sealed within palisade.

if you going to play for long time alone with no mining and no chances to get some metal nugget then build 4 initial corners post, each near its gate and take only one key with you, it will be very reliable even expensive.

p.s. after building palisade don't forget to seal all cornerposts
