Does it work? Or might I still get gored?

The clover is used to get milk from aurochs and wool from mouflon. The quality of the product is equal to the clover. No clue if it would let you pull hair. I'd guess no, but I could be wrong.

To use clover, pick it up and then right click on the target animal. You can then harvest the animal as if it was tame.

Id suggest getting a handful of clovers and fencing in the herd before trying. the chance of getting attacked seems to be on the high side, so you should know pretty quick.

my friend and I were able to pull an entire herd's hair without getting attacked.

one thing's for sure: if you get attacked, you're not going to escape lol.
