Re-Spawning and Finding Old Hearthfire?

Made friends with someone in a bit of a quandary today. He has died and respawned but when he went to talk to the dude who asks for your hearth secret, the dude told him he didn't have one. So is it at all possible for him to somehow locate his old hearthfire? He had no idea where he is in the world and just wants to get home. =(

If you know where his HF is, make him spawn near you and show him...

just have him inherit his old char and then go out the ladder, correct?

I have no idea where his hearthfire is. Will it work to inherit if he made a new character since?

If he inherited on that char that he made, the option to inherit from the char that died is gone.

If he didn't leave the starter room with the char he made, simply have him log back on and go inherit from the runestone on the left of the screen. If he -did not- inherit, making a new char to inherit will work.
