Huh.. not sure how mining is possible, 90% stam consumption

Postby JTG2003 » Fri Mar 18, 2011 6:32 am

I have recently been able to start mining some of the lowest quality ore.. and I gotta say, I'm not sure how you guys mine regularly. To take out a single piece of wall which yielded a q10 stone, it took 90% of my total stamina. Should I be carrying 10 flasks down here with me or am I just doing something wrong here?

Oh, and a quick follow up question.. I found an underground lake, but is there no way to fill a flask from it?

Ah, good to know. I'm at 19 str with a quality 10 stone axe so there's room for improvement.

well there are deep lakes and shallow lakes in caves. for deep lakes you'd need a boat to get water.

Yeah, most caves have a lot higher strength/tool requirement. You're just barely able to mine the softest rock. Spend the time, go kill a bear for the bear tooth necklace and the bear cape. Also hunt around for a mountain and look for a high q stone node for your axe.

Our miners are hitting Iron with 10 str and 5 qual axes, yeah. That's with a most / all stamina drain though.

After I found how shitty QL their axes were I tossed em 12 QL axes and it's going a lot faster.

The main thing to do is just mine around in your cave, keep trying every here and there until you find a good spot. Eat lots of boar meat, bear meat, and anything you can to get Str FEP's. Check out a nearby mountain for a stone node (dig it like clay or soil), and try to boost your axe QL.
