Wrecked thing's within a claim.

Assuming that I wasn't griefed by someone with ridiculous amounts of int*stealth... is there any way to use animals to destroy stuff on a claim? I just recently logged back on to find a boar maybe 10 tiles away, and so I ran a bit of a distance away. When I inspected the situation, i found my ore smelter, all my tanning tubs, and 5 or 6 of my drying racks gone.

Also, all the things, boar included, were near the edge of a river. It kinda begs griefing, but I am curious if there was a way to do it w/o leaving scents, cause I cannot find any.
