Fix My Wall Problem

I've got a bit of a problem.

Take a look at the picture.

See, I was building the wall around my place, and planning to place my back (west) wall along that green strip by the ridge.... I was able to pave it just fine, so I assumed I could build on it too. But then I go to build a cornerpost and nothing happens. Tried other spots on the green strip, turns out you can't build anything there.

Sooo, any ideas on what I can do? If I leave it as is, people can walk on the green strip and get into my place. To fully fence in my west side, I'd need to demolish my kiln (not so bad) and my cabin (not so bad but D: where am I gonna store all my cupboard stuff in the meantime), but eww to having to build a battering ram. I'm not sure I'd have the Strength to even harm a palisade. Maybe I could wedge a cart back there in such a way that they couldn't pull it back out? Can carts be destroyed easily? Halp ; ;

EDIT: Also, if I put up a signpost *like to build a fire, then I put a single stick in it, then I Build it, then leave it* is that easy to destroy or would it protect me?

You can't access cornerposts on cliffs, you have to start them on the cliffs rather than in the middle of where you're building. You can't fit between the cliff and the build sign.

I found a solution fortunately, it just costs another initial cornerpost ; ; but oh well. Goodbye materials
