Secure Cave from the inside

Is there a possibility to wall in a cavehole from the inside? There are some tiles which cannot be mined. i would like to build a palisade inside my cave, the palisade should border to the tiles which cannot be mined. unfortunately the 2 tiles near the cavewall cannot be paved.

How should i secure my cave? is the only possibility to wall it from the outside?

There is a way to do it for mineshafts for sure, I've heard of people doing it. The problem is, you can't build the wall right next to the wall of the cave. This means you need to comepletely encircle the entrance of the cave. My only thought as to how you could do that would be to build the palisade in a 5 wide tunnel that you'd have to dig around the entire entrance of the cave. The cave's no mining zone extends 50 tiles in all directions if I remember correctly.

That involves mining 2100 tiles of rock and placing a minimum of 30 supports.

Only worth it for a silver or gold mine imo. And even then, that's a helluva lotta work. I'd hope you brickwall it for that XD

Edit: I never got a mine up last game. This is assuming you can build/pave on mined tiles. I don't actually know XD

Yes you can, near entrance you cant mine, so you just need to mine first tile that is minable to 4 squares deep something like this

need to remember that wall section must be at least 3 tiles away from MINABLE wall, you can build near unminable wall.
