I thought you cannot build in caves? I would love to have a cart in my cave and maybe some cupboards too, but i cant build anything in there.

You have to pave the cave ground first.

Step 1) Build a house
Step 2) Build a cupboard in the house
Step 3) Put the cupboard in a cave

For carts, either mine out a few tiles first or find somewhere with a large enough space for you to build it away from the walls. Cave tiles must be paved first.

You can't build the cupboards in the cave, you need to move it into the cave from a building. You can build carts though.
