stamina drain

Is it normal that my pickaxe q6 is draining more stamina than stoneaxe q20?

Yes. Stamina drain depends on quality of tool not tool itself.

Also digging with PickAxe fastens not only the digging speed but the stamina draft as well. Take it as there is always the same amount of stamina spent on the same amount of dighits, but as you are digging faster with pickaxe you are getting tired faster. And the Q of tool + STR are the factors influencing what is the stamina price for the dighit.

Actually, to mine the same amount of ore, the pick axe actually uses less per ore. You are just able to get your ore faster with the pick axe than with a stone axe.

Thanx for the answers.
But one more thing: it seemed to me that I actually digged slower with the pickaxe. So, slower digging + more stamina drain than with q20 stone axe. Is that possible or is it just me?

Depends on the quality of your two axes. Yes, it is possible. It's even possible that you can't mine some spots with a low quality pick axe but you can with a stone axe.

Mining Ability = sqr (tool * str). Ability must be greater than or equal to the wall hardness in order to mine.

Time to mine is something like Base Time/(Ability/Hardness). Basically, the higher your ability over the hardness, the faster you'll mine. I'm sure there's a square root in there somewhere. The Base Time is based on what tool you're using.

But there must be some bonus for using a better tool in that equation somewhere. If not, then what is the point in making a pickaxe when I can make the same or better stoneaxe?

yeah, there is. pickaxe will always be faster if you can mine with it. whether you can mine with it or not is determined by sqrt (tool q * str).
