Ram Decay Rate

Postby Collock » Thu Mar 24, 2011 12:26 pm

Ok what the heck is the decay rate on a ram. I repair one and 11 hours latter is is in to bad of a condition to move so i never get to use it. Due I need to use more than one glue to repair it?

You're not supposed to actually move the ram that much, it decays it pretty quickly.

That's what the wiki says: http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Battering_Ram

(actually 6 glue for a full repair and 8 hours ;) )

So if I due that math one glue=12 hours so at the most if one gets 3 days out of a full repair. I would assume one could get 12 days if they stored the ram on stone. However, typically when one is using it, it will not be on stone. I don't understand why repair cost more glue than to intial make it? I just think the decay rate is to fast and needs to be slowed down some.

The can't make it too easy to do siege warfare. If you're building a ram to move your wall and having problems, that means anyone trying to get in will have the same problems. If you can do it faster/longer, so can they. Guess it just depends on which side of the wall you're on.

When I say a little bit I mean more like 20% to 30% improvement and 4 or 5 glue instead of 6. It is just if one does not log on a lot one can miss the window to use the ram with the decay rate as it stands now way to easily.

At full repair, on claim, on paved tiles it can take weeks for a ram to decay.

Then the problem must be doing only partial repairs is not as effective as full repairs. Aka using 2 glue does not repair a rame by 1/3 thus have 1/3 of the life before. I used two glue to repair this time. Less than 24 hours latter decayed to much to use.
