How do I build a pallisade?

I have yeomanry.
I have a claim.
The ground is paved.
I have blocks in my inventory.
I made the blocks myself.
I have enough other carpentry based skills that I can build boats, wagons, round pole fences, houses etc.

I don't have a pallisade icon in my build menu to start the construction with. How do I make it appear?

It's not just wood. You also need rope and glue and leather. Attain knowledge of those.

D'uh. Of course! It's been so long since I actually built a pallisade I forgot about the glue bit. I bet it works the minute I boil up a few bones.
