tracking scent

someone stole from us, and im trying to track down their HF, but whenever i i select hearthfire on the scent, all it does is make a red circle around me, is there something im missing here?

Does the circle happen to be a bright red? There should be a difference, a darker, translucent red, and a bright solid red pointing in the direction of your perp. He might just have such high amounts of intelligence and stealth, that you are tracking 360 degrees around you.

it was just just regular red, and once i increased my exploration a lil some of it was bright red. so i fixed my prob, thanks
