Rabbits, gem or animal?

Rabbits seem so rare now... Did they changed? 2 days exploring and didn't found one... Do they appear in night? And do they have an specific biome? Also any tips on finding these gems/animals?

No to all your questions. They are in fact easier to find during the day.

Tip would be to search harder.

Already found 3 boars, 6 foxes, 7 ant hills, a bear, but no rabbit.

Try useing Enders custom Client, its in the Critiques/suggestions forum sections. You can turn the trees transparent. I use that to find the rabbits since they tend to hide behind trees a lot. You can also zoom out with taht client (look under camera options to activate), that allows you to see a much larger area. I was able to find 7 rabbits in a couple hours of aimless wandering in the wilderness.

On another note I usually find them in the pine forests, or on the edge of biomes next to one. but that might be due to the fact that the area I am in is almost entirely Pine forests.

How can you make them transparent ? i can make them disappear(or not show) but cant make them transparent.

Rabbits can spawn anywhere but the swamps. I've even seen them run into the swamps from surrounding areas.

I have a strong feeling rabbits don't like you - and they are fast and good at hiding.

Try searching on other terrain types. You can usually improve your success rates in grasslands/heaths/moors.

I have seen more rabbits between today and yesterday than all the rabbits av seen in world 3 and 4 together. :/
