Is ;y spot a bad one?

Heck I can deforest faster than light, would it take oo long for the grassland to appear?

I'm assuming you're attempting to find your first bones to craft a saw with? If this is the case and you really just can't find any grassland/heath/moor, then settle for rabbits and stay safe.
If you're looking for chickens to breed them, make sure you have a chicken coop before hand or can construct one relatively soon after catching the chickens or they'll despawn if left on the ground or starve to death if left in your inventory/containers.
If you have farming, you can plant grass to create artificial grassland. You can also just deforest an area to cause grassland to naturally begin to spread.
