Advice on getting Clay/Cauldron

Postby pokiehl » Sun Mar 27, 2011 1:47 am

How do I get large quantities of clay? Is it supposed to be so rare?
I need to build my palisade fast, and I can't get enough Clay to build a cauldron.

When I find some spot of mudflat, I can get one single piece of clay from it, and nothing more, If I try to dig from different spots of this same mudflat, I can get no more clay, so I assume that a node is a whole area of mudflat, right?

From shallow water I can sometimes get some clay, but it seems just as erratic.

I've been trying to get the 25 clay pieces for cauldron for a long time, without sucess. And it worries me to spend so much time without a palisade.

Advice on getting clay, please.

Find a clay node on a river. Try to dig clay every 25-40 tiles. If you get q11+, you can get more than 1 piece of clay out of it every 2 days.

No, he's saying that when you find a clay node you will be able to get out MORE than one every two days. Meaning a lot. A whole lot. Hundreds. Although the quality will go down the longer you dig.

So, basically, the most reliable way of getting clay is on a boat? By digging every once in a while?

Mudflats are usually great sources of clay, too, and provide acre clay. This can be used in some different recipes than ball clay. I have seen areas with several mudflats and still no quality clay, though.

Followed the advice to dig at shallow water and found a great place with ball clay at quality 11.

Filled two crates with it and took some more on inventory, now my palisade will be up in no time. :)

No one must know of my q32 clay spot :D

Acre clay.

It's unclaimed too.
