How do I get there

I found a village that was completely destroyed whose occupants were murdered. I was doing my part by saving their stuff (I mean I think I need it more than them; they are dead). I came across a house that had that crate there. I have a feeling thats where they put their good stuff. How can I get to that crate?

yeah, I know how to get to the cellar I mean the random crate that is in the blackness that I circled with yellow. The stuff in the cellar has been completely liberated already

EDIT: trust me this place is abandoned Ive been salvaging their stuff for like 3 days now.

They had a hearth fire there and when they jumped back carrying the crate the game/client crashed.

Upon this happening the item carried drops, but not straight down. Instead it acts as if you are still there and falls into the wall.

That crate will never be interacted with again.
