Meele damage formula

Postby malvren » Mon Mar 28, 2011 3:31 pm

According to the wiki the damage formula for swords is:

Base Damage * sqrt(sqrt(quality*strength)/10)

So a bronze sword of Q 10 allways does 325 damage with 10 strenght

What effect does the meele atribute has then? Does it affect the chance to hit?

Read the combat system guide, it's a sticky topic here.

It affects the damage you do to someones defense bar.

Ok now we are talking so if my meele is lower than the other persons defense bar i will take a much smaller chunk of his defense bar.

So, lets assume that i manage to do 4 oportunity knocks and i completely depled his defense bar. Does the meele skill affect how many hitpoints i take form his shp?

q10 sword with 10 str would be 577 damage, if that formula is correct.

Theoretically, no, in practice yes since he'll recover some defence before your Opportunity Knocks cooldown is finished. Not that you'd ever last long enough to get that much IP if your combat skill is significantly lower than your opponent's.

So damage is kinda important, but the main thing really is combat skill. Especially UA, since if you don't have any points in it the opponent can recharge his whole attack or defence bar every time you make a move.

@Sabinati

10*10 = 100
sgrt(100) = 10
10/10 = 1
sqrt(1) = 1
325*1 = 325

Thanks that answered my question. I'm trying to figure out the optimal UA/Meele ratio in case i only plan to use my sword to deal the finishing strike.
