The mine request thread.

Postby Laremere » Wed Jun 03, 2009 9:03 pm

My friend is joining the settlement that I have been at alone doing more of the nature side of things. He is for of a miner type, and so we need a mine before he can do much around my place. So if any Dev would teleport to me if I'm on, I can show you where we need it, and he can come and join me. Also, instead of having many mine threads occupying this forum, I think my thread could become a general purpose thread for requesting them.

Edit: I build an X of "building here" signs where it need to go.

I, too, would like one. I sent the devs a PM, but they haven't responded yet. They're probably quite busy, though, so I guess that's fine.

if they're still doing it (which they probably are) what you want to do is create a rune stone, move it to where you want the mine, and engrave it with something like "mine here please - love <yourname>" and then pm them with the writing that's on the rune.

That way they can easily find the spot and create the mine whether you're on or not

I got it already. Thanks allot for making it, my friend is hard at work mining it, though he got a plenty annoyed when the server crashed and he lost is hammer, but at least he still has his pick, so he'll get a bunch of metal soon enough. Also, thanks for killing the fox, as soon as my friend makes us some simple swords, I hope I'll be able to take them on, but for now they're the reason I'm just leaving the gauze on my head. I was planning on having a nice meal with the corpse you left on the ground, but my friend was low on food when he arrived, and he somehow managed to find and eat the meat I had left in my line of baskets quicker than it would have taken to get to an apple tree. I'll make a nice hat out of the skin though, and keep it as a treasure from the devs.

Anyway, thanks for the mine...

For simple fact that it would either A) break something, or B) be awesome, can I request a mine within a mine? Or maybe a mine in a house? :3=

Oh, do not worry, it wouldn't break anything. Before the last map reset, we used to play around with such configurations quite a lot. :)

On the other hand, I don't really know what spawned the rumor that we'd be able to find runestones with a certain text on them. Rather, I have to log in every once in a while to try and find some of the requesters logged in in order to find them. I'll probably get around to you sooner or later.

That was just a rumor? Blah, farewell, rock, I hardly knew ye. ...oh well, not like it was a particularly important rock, or the only one around. =P

Question about map resets. When you do one, does it just reset the world and not the characters? And any idea on when the next one will be?

It only resets the world and not the characters, indeed. We don't have any immediate plans to wipe the world, but we are planning to endow the map generator with a couple of new amazing features in a not too distant future, I'd guess, but I can't make any definite time estimate (I'm notoriously bad at those).

We'll warn in the announcement forum a few days before we actually wipe it, though, so you can take a backpack and your favorite tools with you to the next world.

What's the plan as far as character wipes go? While they're never popular, they do keep things fair after major balance changes/exploit fixes.
