Oven cooking.

Postby a_Ficus » Mon Mar 28, 2011 8:07 pm

I had something odd happen today, though it's also my first time trying to cook anything with an oven. Here's the sequence of events:

1.) Made 1 blueberry pie dough
2.) Put it in oven
3.) Tossed in 3 branches, per the wiki
4.) While I was putting in branches, I noticed some wheat popped to the "Harvest" phase
5.) Gathered wheat, made flour, made 2 more blueberry pies
6.) Put final 2 in oven
7.) Lit oven

My result was that one pie (I believe it was the first one I put in) was cooked about 3/4 through the baking process. The other two did not cook at all through the whole process. Per the wiki, it sounds like you should be able to cook multiple things that require the same amount of fuel in an oven at the same time. Is this correct? Or did I flub somewhere?

You are correct. You can bake different items at the same time, even if they require different cook times. However, if you do so, you have to make sure to only fuel the oven for the shortest one, take it out, then add enough fuel to finish what's in there.

If something doesn't finish or has set in the oven more than a minute or two, make sure to only cook one branch at a time. There is a bug where things will 'cook' if just left sitting in there. Also, you can use this to cook something you aren't sure of the cooking time on.
