Leather gathering

Postby the1nonly12 » Mon Mar 28, 2011 9:08 pm

Hey guys. Ive been getting stolen from by a bunch of theives across a river, So ive decided to build a wooden paliside to try and deter them. I can get all the resources for it relativley quickly, Except leather. I do get a little leather here and there, But since i cant get any fur other then Rabbit fur, I dont know how im going to be able to get 10 leather together. I hunt rabbits day and night, And normally only catch one.
Any suggestions would be helpful, Thanks!

Get a sling and MM to 20, and kill some boars/foxes

Hunting is really easy to do.

All you need is a boat (or somewhere where the boar/fox cant get you)
About 10 marksman (more is better)
About q10 sling (more is better)
And the required combat skills (unarmed combat and whatever is needed to fire a sling)

Once you have these, find a boar or fox. Shoot at them with the sling from the boat. After 1 or two shoots, the boar will panic and run.
You can do two things: get out of the boat/unreachable place and punch the boar to death because as the boar is moving, its defence counts as 0
or you can disengage from combat and shoot the boar again after it has moved a short distance.

When I go foraging, I'm usually passing the rabbits by because I can't carry them all back along with what I'm trying to forage. Also, I rarely use a boat when foraging. You leave too much area uncovered.
