Behives "storage" Quantity [Answered]

Postby tarvil » Tue Mar 29, 2011 4:26 pm

I have some stupid Nooby Questions.

So can a beehive hold more the 0.1l of honey at a time? and can it hold wax and Honey at the same time?

Some details:
I currently have 1 Beehive with around 2 dozen crops planted around it (all within the radius) so far I have not gotten any wax, however I have gotten .3l of honey. I had left it for a full growth cycle of 12 beetroots and it produced .1l of honey, and nothing else, however very shortly (maybe 15 min) after I had harvested the honey I noticed that the hive was ready to be harvested again. I guess it is possible that I may not have waited long enough to have the hive produce anything else (yeah I'm a tad impatient =).

Thank You!

Edit: added [Answered] to title. Thank You!

Yes, yes, but it does take a long time.

Honey/Wax is not a guarenteed thing. Every time a crop grows, the hive has a chance to produce 0.1L of honey, or 1 wax. Wax seems to appear about 1 for every 0.3L of honey. I've personally seen 0.8L of honey and 3 wax stored in a hive. There may be no realistic max storage (it could be the max value of an int or something) nor have I heard it ever mentioned.

If you want more honey/wax, don't overlap hives. They can't share crop growth "food". Also, grow lots of carrots (fastest crop to grow) and make sure to harvest frequently. Only actively growing crops actually produce anything. Off medium growth crops, you'll easily get 0.5L and 1-2 wax per day from a hive.

Thank You for the detailed information!

Luckily I just got a carrot seed the other day, so I can plant a carrots, I also have a lot of beetroots, and since those are also fast I will use them a lot!

Hopefully I will be getting wax soon! =D

Thank You Again! To both of you!

Hives do have a max limit on honey of 1.0 L. I've never had more than 2 wax in a hive, but then I've never let it stack up enough for more.

IIRC hive can hold a maximum of 5 wax.
