Travelling Trader

So I was thinking of how one could be a traveling trader, someone with a wagon going around the map trading. But how would you stop people from randomly killing your bull and taking your stuff? The best you could do is drop a claim and make a fence, but this is hardly enough to deter criminals. And without a bull you are stranded. Even if you could run across enough nice villages, most don't have a wagon size gate. I know J&L have plans on allowing for gypsy style play but I'm wonder if that its at all possible to do it now.

I was wondering about this as well. I think it would be difficult to do this sort of travel as the game, and the world are right now. I believe that any player with the proper skills could kill the bull and/or just steal the entire wagon. On top of this with the current world being rather new there are a lot of rather dense forests out there that would need paths cut through them for the wagon.

I would love to be able to get a wagon train going and actually be able to travel from city to city trading and exploring. But right now I do not see it as being feasible.
