Gate question

Hi,

Sorry for the noobish question, but why can't I place a gate here?



I'm worried the same sort of thing will happen when I build a palisade... so I would like to know why

that looks like 3 squares apart. You may also have shift clicked while building something

Edit, ive also had trouble building round pole fences on paved or plowed ground, so it might be that. GL

Only reason I can think of is because you unaligned a cornerpost from the grid. Aside from that, assuming nothing is blocking construction, there is no reason you shouldn't be able to build there. It's two tiles apart and you can't seal roundpole fences.

It's the plowed land that's blocking it. Gates check the spaces in front and behind them.

For a palisade gate, the front and back need to be paved. For a roundpole gate it just can't be plowed land. Not sure if other terrain types block the roundpole gate as well. I've only built them on pavement, grass, and forest before.
