Personal Beliefs Explained

Your character's personal beliefs reflect how he or she feels about the important issues in the Hearthlands. The first aspect of the belief system (the only one yet implemented) are your Attitudes.

Attitudes are dualisms that are represented on a scale with eleven different settings ranging from +5 through 0 to -5. Each dualism has a set of effects associated with it.

Effects of full Change:

Reincarnate at 0% of old character's skill values if your character dies.

Attitude sliders can be changed once every 24th played ingame hour (Once every eight hour played IRL). Please note that time spent AFK does not count towards the 24hs. Each attitude change will also push your character one step towards Change on the Tradition/Change slider.

Nice, i was wondering about this. I was about to make a thread asking how it works. :D

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.

Sorry about bumping this thread, but since the new steel update, I have to ask:
Does having high industry belief increase the chances of getting bloom or successfully creating wrought iron?
You see a masterful engraving by Blaze. On it is Blaze, bears, boars, and foxes. Blaze is striking down the bears. The boars are screaming. The foxes are in a fetal position. The image relates to the return of Blaze in the late winter of 2009.

Not at the moment. I kept reminding myself to add that in during our dev session, but then it, of course, completely slipped my mind. It will be fixed, and I'll post here when it is.

I am getting the feeling you guys need to write down stuff while in dev session.

whats "Grievous damage"? is that HHP damage?
so does +20% Grievous damage mean you do more HHP damage or take less?

You guessed right about the type of damage. :)
It means you deal 20 % more.

Here's another question, for Nature/Industry, when is the bonus calculated?

As in, is the bonus added when you mine the ore, put the ore in the smelter, or when you light the fire?
Same for planting, is the bonus added when you plant it or when you harvest it?

Good question.
I know for a fact that constitution gained from barbarism does not add to your hp.

Wouldn't that be a bug then? Why else would you want more con? Does it follow that the Str doesn't add to your damage?
