Same for planting, is the bonus added when you plant it or when you harvest it?

For mining, the bonus takes effect when the ore is mined; and for plants, when they are harvested.

Does reincarnation give you a straight LP refund from your previous character? or does it come with pre-spent LP's (matching what your previous character had?

I've been assuming the former, and if so then it's kind of interesting that the "traditional" belief actually allows for slightly more change, as you can be perma-killed and re-allocate your points however you like with minimal bother.

A reincarnated character's values will match the values of the previous character, adjusted by the tradition/change percentage. You get a adjusted refund on unused LPs and LPs spent on skills.

So if I'm a 100% Traditional character, and I die with the stoneworking skill bought for 200 skill points, do I resurrect with 200 skill points? or do I have stone working?

If I'm 80% Traditional, do I get a fraction of 200 skill points and no stoneworking?

I'm just curious. My actual character isn't largely traditional and doesn't plan on dying to test it :P

If you're 80% traditional your new character would start with 160 LPs. If you're 100% traditional your new character would start with 200 LPs. Skills are converted back into LPs and then reduced. Skill values (Melee, Unarmed, Marksman), are reduced quite simply. If you have melee combat 20 and are 80% traditional your new character would have melee 16. Change is probably the better of the two right now, but, then again, animals don't kill you yet.

I know for a fact that constitution gained from barbarism does not add to your hp.

I would love confirmation on if this is a bug or intended. I did the math and HP from the STR bonus also does not get included. I do not know the formula for how STR gets added to damage, so I cant test that, but my gut tells me it is not.

This was not as intended and should now be fixed the next time the server is restarted. STR from barbarism should likewise add its DMG bonus to attacks, and its HP bonus.

this could use some tweaking...from what ive seen, you can only adjust one attitude once every played 24 hours right?

well since that takes a long time specializing in their attitudes should give you a win or lose, it should be advantagous. going full death will take days/weeks of playing time so it shouldnt provide an equal consequence, it should provide a lesser consequence to reward you overall for playing so much.

also special items for specialists would be cool :D

There is an interesting emergent philosophy here; new players will naturally gravitate to "change" as they select abilities and want to learn quickly. After they get high skills, specialized beliefs, and useful characters, they will gradually change to "tradition" so they can save the points in an accident.
Surprise.

yeh but if an accident happens earlier, when there is a bigger chance of that, you would lose all your skill points and start over if you max out exp gain....
