What is a good way to sneakily build and dry a battering ram

IMO, there is barely any way because I heard that they break down in 25 squares unpaved and 50 paved.

How can I sneakily build one near somebodies base? Like is it big enough to hide behind a few trees?

You can hide one behind a few of the bushier trees, but any fort worth anything won't leave that kinda cover close to the wall. That and x-ray vision

They require a 2x2 area to construct (If you hold shift you can fit one perfectly into a 2x2).

Against a well defended fort this is nearly impossible. But against smaller ones you can build the ram behind bushy trees, a couple clustered together, rocks, etc. Another good way to do it is to find the area of the compound that appears to be least used. On some bigger ones you can hide a ram like that.

The third and final way to do it is to drop a claim on your ram and surround it in a roundpole fence with no entrances. The only way to get at the ram in that case is with vandalism, a skill which less developed forts may not possess.

The biggest form of stealth attacks comes from tunneling nowadays from what I read. Dropping mineshafts and digging into their mine/cave systems using enders to see where they're going once they get close enough.

dont depend on hiding behind objects, most custom clients let you see through them

@title: build a palisade cornerpost out of their patrol range, once cp is dry extend your wall to their wall, enclose your ram to protect it while drying
