Trespassing VS criminal acts

I know trespassing allows you to interact with objects, but this isn't very specific. What are some types of things can you do with trespassing that you cannot do with criminal acts?

Anything that involves interacting with objects is covered by the skill Trespassing. Going into buildings, looking in cupboards, everything. Dropping objects/crates/boats you can do with no black skill, but obviously without trespassing and theft afterwards you can't pick them back up.

I personally feel the skill is mislabeled, The act of walking on someone's claim is called "Trespassing", but requires no skill. I certainly had to be told as a nublet that turning on criminal acts was all that was required to walk over claims.
