Farming grounds decaying - Can it be helped?

Postby Ziggyzog » Tue Apr 05, 2011 8:28 pm

My farming grounds keep turning back into forest and I have a rather large farm. This annoys me so I would like to know if there is any solution to prevent or prolong the decay. If I have higher farming does my plowed land last longer? Or does it depend on something like the plow's quality?

Yes, it's completely random. Tiles are selected randomly to decay. A plowed field will revert to native land, items will take damage, trees regrow harvestables, etc.

Thought there was a random chance of it changing to grassland or moor. (Forget which order things go in.)

Quality of the seeds, ground quality, and farming skill do nothing for decay. Ground Q and skill only changes the rate at which your crops go up or down in quality. Bee hives and pumpkins are useless together.

Forest -> Grassland -> Moor -> Heath.
