Combat type stacking?

Postby Halagaz » Wed Apr 06, 2011 10:09 am

Hi, i don4t know if its a very good question, but i just need to know.

If put some points both in Unarmed + melee, do they stack in the calculation or not, and if they dont how is it calculated, does it take the best of those if the moves belong to both? or does the moves belong to one or the other type and there is no confusion possible, how does it work?

For exemple say i have 80 Ua, and put 40 melee, does it count as if i have 120 against say a deer, or not?

Nope. Moves, maneuvers, special maneuvers, and attacks will tell you what they use. If it's a Fist, it uses UA, if it's a Sword it uses MC.

For the noobie fighter looking for mostly defensive issues, go pure UA. You don't really *need* a sword and a stone axe just isn't worth using as far as most people seem to think. Swords are "finishers" in combat, and you'll always want to have vastly more UA than Melee skill anyway.

Unarmed, Brawling, (Militia Training, Soldier Training just to get to Leadership) Leadership. That will give you the basic abilities you need to kill a fox at ~50 UA. Fire & Ice will cover the additional skill you need for taming.
