help with crops

I have little doubt about the crops, the quality of the land now influences on crops?

Yes.

If Crop Quality < Max Soil Quality, then quality variance between generations is -5/+5, Averaging at ~+5 at Full Nature (Except Tea and Pumpkins)
If Crop Quality > Max Soil Quality, then quality variance between generations is -5/+2, Averaging at ~+1 at Full Nature (Except Tea and Pumpkins)

Digging soil quality down does not alter the Max Soil Quality.

I know it's been explained before and I know it's correct, but how the hell does an average of random numbers (regardless of how many seeds are harvested) between 0 and 8 equal 7?

Nevermind, I got it. Since you're only planting 1 seed for every 1 harvest, then the more seeds you get gives you a better chance of getting a seed that's +. Makes sense now.

Just to add something on Teck, you will also be able to increase your product quality on tea and pumpkins.

Right. Even at neutral you're going to go up in quality slightly every generation. At full nature, you are just speeding the process up. All it means is that it will take longer to get to q100 crops without very high Q soil.

Slow and steady wins the race.

My carrots are at q60 and my soil is only q35~, I average 1.2q increase per replant batch. (Yes I have a spreadsheet for all my crops lol).

Keep working hard on your fields and eventually even with q10 soil, it will be Q100. Goodluck on your farm.
