Palisade problem

Postby Ixolite » Fri Apr 08, 2011 8:48 pm

Hey there guys, while the servers are down Ive come to you with a small conundrum. I am currently nestled up to a cliff edge and want to install a wall to increase security. Is there anyway I can do this with only one initial corner post?

I suppose you could go all the way around the cliff... or sade along the cliff-face? With your current plan, cobaltjones is correct, no.

Actually, it is you just need to use a ram to take down spaces in between the gate cornerposts.

Don't build next to a cliff, people can use a bug and walljump it.

Thank you kind sirs, I will instead create a square walled palisade adjacent to the proposed area. Then extend this area later on once my lodgings are secure

@RJT, I had considered such a design but the components needed to build a ram (which are then lost after its use) could easily be put towards a second initial cornerpost

@slipper Thanks for the tip, ill stick to square lodgings, then use the L shape walled off area for less valuable stuff (drying hides/crops etc)

Assuming there is a cave there I would suggest parking yourself just off from it and fence & claim the cave this prevents the majority of people for messing with it and you can palisade it later (or now if you have the resources). But try and not connect the cave palisade with yours or else some one can cliff jump and build a ram to mess with you.

Does the carpentry level inflict on the quality of the palissade ?

Nope, Palisades are all the same strength no matter what.
