Murder - how does it work?

Postby Ziggyzog » Sat Apr 09, 2011 1:52 pm

When a player has the murder skill, does it work like regular combat and knock you out first or can they 1 hit KO you at full hp? Like lets say you have 100SHP and HHP, then someone does 200 damage on you. Will that kill you or just knock you out?

from the wiki:
With the murder skill, you may attack the K.O.-d hearthling again, dealing damage to his hard hit points.

I understand it as, using your example, they would knock you out and then have to attack you again to actually kill you.

SHP damage does not immediately spill over into HHP damage. All SHP damage done to a player who is not KO'd will just be applied to SHP and not become HHP damage. The murder skill allows you to continue attacking the player after they're KO'd, so that you may attack their HHP directly.

Using your example, that will just KO you.

Do note the "grievous wound" though. You'll notice this most often when an animal attacks you, and does 30 SHP damage and 2 HHP damage. There is -some- HHP damage involved in normal combat, but that's unrelated to the murder skill. The murder skill only lets you continue combat after a KO.

so wait, if someone does not have murder, and they are fighting someone with very low HHP, could they still actually kill them? Because of the thing you mentioned?

They do not need to have low HHP, a cheap sling can do 20 grievous (HHP) damage to somebody with no armour.

you can easily kill anybody without murder, the only weapon that does not deal good grievous damage are your bare fists

Combat does NOT end when your are K.O.ed. A person without murder is just unable to attack you while you have the stars going around your head.
Even if you are still on the ground, as soon as you can move you can be attacked again. Because you can not teleport to your hearth while in combat your only hope is to try to run away.

If you don't have any water your are f-cked

Back when i had only rage, i tracked someone who sealed my corner post, punched them out, and proceeded to stand over there body punching them out over and over and over again till they died. Took forever >.>
