I heard that if you stomped plowed land to dirt, it can become a mini mudflat.
How do you get clay from this? I tried digging on it but it didn't work.

It's only similar to mudflat in appearance. Clay cannot be dug and it can also decay.
It's basically just another, less intensive method for road building.
