There's a map of the game world?
How can I find my friends when we start playing?

The map of the world is located at http://algeralith.info/HavenMap/ (Unofficial, and currently experiencing some errors).

However, the easiest way for new players to find eachother and play together is for one person to start a new character, and after that character is spawned, set your "hearth secret" via the kin menu and then give that secret to your friends you want to find you. If you give that secret to the guy at the top corner of the new character room they will spawn next to you.

But, what are these blank spaces in the map?

The little blank spaces are areas that have not been mapped yet (the map is unofficial and compiled by players of the game). The big blank spaces are errors with the map at the moment.
