Soil regeneration

Postby Ziggyzog » Mon Apr 11, 2011 11:50 pm

I have recently moved onto some decent soil for a newbie like me and my friends, and we started to dig for worms. Slowly but surely, the soil quality decreased, and my friend warned me to keep some good soil for trees (which we did because we were unsure how long it would take for the node to replenish). So the basic question is, how long does it take for a node to fully replenish it's quality?

I usually come back the next RL day and see, but I don't rush it. Also I usually skim off the top, and take the highest q and if I get any extra, I use it on non-critical things. Like, my kiln will take a week or so to build because it's max q, but the oven will be 1-2 q lower, or I'll toss the extra clay into bricks for roads, or jars, or urns.

Either way, a full day should replenish nigh-anything.

Each node type regenerates at a different speed. I'm pretty sure clay and soil are similar though. I'd guess roughly 1 point of Q per 1-2 real life hours?

If the soil Q involved is less than 30-40, you can probably find a node in the area pretty quickly that's similar Q. Soil nodes of that quality are quite common.
