Battering rams, swamps, and thicket

Postby Ziggyzog » Tue Apr 12, 2011 2:38 am

The first and probably most important question, even though it is a bad idea to even attempt this in the first place, can battering rams cross swamps or thicket? Also is there any difference between swamp types?

Also a side question, are you able to build on swamps?

Don't think you can build any buildings on swamps since you can't pave em.

As for battering rams, on paved road they move 20 tiles before breaking (takes 8 hours to repair with bone glue). You don't roll em really... you build em beside the place you're attacking.

Rams don't move. They go 15 tiles over dirt/soil and 25 tiles over pavement, according to Glorious Techxnight dude. Thus, build it next to your target for best effect. The advantage is really on the defender's side.

Is a Q40+ sledgehammer good and easy to obtain?

Good, sure I guess. Easy to obtain? Not so much. It takes steel to make, that's the kicker.

Far as I know though, for destruction of buildings/buildables the Q of the sledgehammer makes no difference.

I think it would since it would increase base damage, but what do I know? Also does the metal you make it out of affect it's quality any?

hella yes the metal would. If anything, the metal would probably be weighted more heavily than the other ingredients.

As for the damage thing: You'd think so, but I'm just quoting what floats around on the forums.

Actually, it's pointless. Use the crap materials to make it. Sevenless is correct here. It's a flat +4 damage. (Love having it to break cave in rocks.)

The type of metal makes no difference. Iron, bronze, steel, w.e it takes I can't think off the top of my head. Same with Knuckles, Iron Bronze or Steel, still does the same damage.

Doesn't a sledgehammer stack with battering ram? Like the ram adds 20, and the hammer makes 24? Thus, 36 damage for four people using hammers on a ram?
