How do I make a Prism

Hi All,

I know that you can't build an item with parts that you have yet to make (like stealing boards off of someone won't let you build something with them unless you've sawed a log first). I've made my own alloying crucibel, from my own bricks, and my own glass from sand I dug up, and I still can't make the glass prism. I have Glassmaking, and am standing right next to my alloying crucibel.

Also, I can't find any glass products under Craft -> Ceramics. Am I missing anything skill/item wise?

I unlocked it after digging sand and putting sand in kiln to make glass. Prism and spectacles were unlocked. With glassmaking and jewelry unlocked that is.

I'm very far from having enough to purchase jewllery, but I'll keep it in mind if I can't figure out another method.

Having a similar issue. I can make a prism, but not wine glasses / wine bottles. I may need wine/vinegar though.

Jewelry isn't necessary to produce the prism or spectacles, only glassmaking. It's been a while since I've unlocked and I've likely forgotten, but if I'm right as long as you've taken the glass out of the kiln, you should be able to make it. Of course, it might be tied to making charcoal, too, since that is needed to fuel the crucible.

Again, there's sometimes a delay between unlocking a recipe and it actually showing up on your menu. You might need to wait or log out and log back in.

I've got metalworking, as I needed it to build the crucible. I tried using a friend's crucible first, then bought metalworking to make my own.

Of course, it might be tied to making charcoal, too, since that is needed to fuel the crucible.

I've already made charcoal, but I may need to make more and use it with the crucible (as I think someone nicked it from my kiln).

Buildings don't unlock anything, so it doesn't really matter who built them.

You have to pull the items from the kiln to get the discovery for them, not just load it. Berate your friend badly for doing this to you!
