First house

I played last world, and needless to say...this world is different.
I've got the necessary skills to be able to make at least a basic house, yet... I don't see the option.
I CAN build a Kiln, but I've not found enough clay. Must I make one of those in order to make a house?
And by house...I mean even the basic cabin? Do you need to make a cabin before you can make a timber house now?

Pick a bough off a tree, turn a log into boards, remove a stump, viola.

I assume you don't know about the discovery system that was implemented. Every time you see something new, you get some LP (you probably noticed that) and it unlocks it as an ingredient for recipes. Once you have discovered all the items required to make an object (boards, blocks, boughs for a log cabin) and you have the skills required (doesn't apply to the house, since you need carpentry to discover boards) the recipe will become available to you to make.
