Half my stuff disappeared overnight

I have a claim with a log cabin and some other crap. Everything is built on paved ground. This morning I log in to find that 1 crate is gone from outside the house and one of my cupboards has been plundered. The crate contained dried and raw animal skins and the cupboard contained miscellaneous stuff, among which 10 ropes that are all gone now. Several other things are missing (some foraged curiosities, some leather). Is decay back in the game? Or did someone break in to steal 10 ropes and some itsy bitsy spiders?

Just a claim won't stop many people, so you need a palisade.
If you learn ranging, you'll be able to see and track scents.

As has been suggested elsewhere, try building a roundpole fence without any gates. It takes only a couple of seconds to open and close it for the owner, but requires the would-be thief to have vandalism on top of theft and trespassing.
